Hamburg – der Hammer

When I mentioned that I’d be heading to Hamburg in my previous post, I actually had no intention of blogging about it, but I was honestly so impressed that I just had to share it with you.

I’m already familiar with Hamburg as it’s not far from Flensburg, where I studied during my year abroad- hands down, the best time of my life. So not only was this a quick trip but also quite a nostalgic one, bringing back memories of times where I formed life long friendships with people from all around the world. I hadn’t yet however, been lucky enough to experience what Hamburg has on offer over Christmas. Take a look for yourself…

Hamburger Hof Department Store
Lebkuchen & Christmas Nuts
Neuer Wall Upmarket Shopping Street
Christmas Trees
Weißerzauber Christmas Shopping Market
Indoor Christmas Lights
Glass Christmas Decorations
Schmalzkuchen

Thousands of glistening lights, hundreds of Christmas trees and numerous cosy corners to sit down for a few Glühweins and Schmalzkuchen, Hamburg really is der Hammer. And for those of you who are wondering what that means, it’s awesome!
